- Record first half performance sets up 38-18 victory at MCG
- Latrell Mitchell among try-scorers on his return to Blues line-up
A barely believable Blues blitz has blown this year’s State of Origin series open and set up a tantalising decider next month in Brisbane. New South Wales bullied the Maroons at the MCG on Wednesday, running out 38-18 winners, leaving those watching inside Australia’s great sporting cauldron stunned by what they had witnessed.
Six tries from the Blues in an imperious first half display put the lead at 34-0. The previous highest half-time margin was 21-0, set by Queensland all the way back in 1983.
